Citizens Online is delighted to announce that its project, Digital Gwynedd, has supported the Welsh translation of an accredited training course to better help frontline staff in Wales support customers with digital skills.
The course, ‘Using your role to help customers get online’ was originally created by the London Borough of Waltham Forest in partnership with Digital Unite as part of the Digital Champions Network.
The course explores how frontline members of staff can identify a person’s digital skill requirement, and then teaches light touch ways of engaging them in digital participation. It is CPD accredited and comes complete with a certificate and digital badge to verify the skills and knowledge staff members have gained through the training.
As a member of the Digital Champions Network, Digital Gwynedd facilitated the Welsh translation of the course with Digital Unite and with funding
from Digital Communities Wales and Gwynedd Council. Having a bilingual course is a great help in training Welsh staff, and identifying and supporting
customers digital needs.
